What is SSL?

SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and is the standard for e-commerce security. SSL encrypts data, like credit cards numbers and personal information submitted via a web browser. You know that you're on an SSL protected web page when the address begins with "https" and there is a padlock icon at the bottom of the page (in address bar using Mozilla Firefox).

SSL Certificates

A SSL certificate is required to secure pages and encrypt the data submitted by customers and users on a website. The standard SSL Certificates encryption is 128-bit.

Shared SSL

TJ-Hosting offers MerchantSecure 128-bit Shared SSL for $9.95/month, available as an add-on to your hosting plan. MerchantSecure 128bit Shared SSL is an affordable solution provided by TJ-Hosting through it's partnership with GeoTrust. Example of SSL URL: https://yourdomain.MerchantSecure.com

Private SSL Certificate

A Private SSL Certificate can be installed by submitting a request for install via the Help Desk, there is a one-time cost of $49.95. Customer supplies their own SSL Certificate purchased through a third party vendor to be installed on TJ-Hosting server. Cost includes CSR generation, SSL installation and Unique IP address.

Shopping Carts

Customers can install any third party vendor shopping cart software that is compatible with TJ-Hosting web hosting platform.
TJ-Hosting recommends the following Shopping Cart Software Vendors:
osCommerce - Database: MySQL only
Zen-Cart - Database: MySQL only
x-cart - Database: MySQL only
Shop-Script - Database: MySQL only
VP-ASP - Database: MS Access / MSSQL Server / MySQL
ProductCART - Database: MS Access / MSSQL 2000 and SQL 2005 - not comp. mySQL
eCART - Database: MS Access 2000 / MSSQL Server 7/2000 - not comp. mySQL
